How to Measure Jeans
Our love for sustainable denim runs deep, and you know we’re never tired of talking all things denim. Jeans are a fashion necessity, you can wear them with everything from tank tops, to shirts, from sneakers to heels. Our newly launched OGL sustainable denim collection features comfortable, soft, and stretchy denim fabric, that is also sustainable. From classic straight-leg jeans to flare jeans, straight-leg jeans to taper jeans, OGL jeans are ready to be your most comfortable pair of jeans in your wardrobes.
Now since you’ve read OGL jeans style guide, you know how versatile and stylish OGL jeans are. So, you found the pair of OGL jeans you want, and you’ve found the size chart, but you still don’t have a clue what size to order. Get your measuring tape, we’re here to show you how to measure and find your perfect fit:
Waist
Determine where the waistband of your jeans is meant to sit on your waist. For mid-rise jeans like our Mid-rise Taper Jeans which the waistband sits just below the navel, we recommend you to measure in line with or slightly below the navel. For high-rise jeans like our High-waisted Taper Jeans which the waistband sits at or above the navel, we recommend waist measurement to be taken an inch above your navel. Be careful not to hold the measuring tape too low, or you may end up with low-waisted jeans.
Tip: When you’re measuring your waist, remember not to pull the measuring tape too tightly around your waist. For the most comfortable jeans fit, you’ll want to take loose, comfortable, and relaxed measurements.
Hips:
Measuring the hip is very similar to measuring your waist. For hips measurement, measure the widest part of your hips, where it's below the top of your hip bones.
Tip: The hip area on the jeans is usually 1.5 to 2 inches below the jeans’ zipper.
Length
Measurement of your leg length. As above, we take measurements from crotch to ankle. Use this measurement to determine how long you would like your jeans. The longer your legs are, the higher your inseam will be.
Tip: Measure at the top of your thigh down your ankle. If you’re having trouble measuring the length of your legs, measure a pair of pants that fit you well. With the pants laying on the flat surface, measure from the top of the waistband to the end of the pant leg.
Reading Jeans Sizing Charts
Record your measurements and use your measurements to determine your size according to the sizing chart. OGL jeans come in different styles and fits, choose a fit that you feel most comfortable in.
The following chart is our size guide to finding your perfect fit. Note that figures within the chart only refer to the measurement of waist and hips, since the length measurement of each jeans varies from different styles, designs, and fabrications. Please keep in mind to check OGL’s Sizing & Fit located on each product page before buying.
