I went with my usual M and found enough room through the hip without an oversized look. The merino blend feels soft and comfortably warm without being bulky. Olive Night Green looks rich in person and makes the pintuck detail and wide leg easy to see.

Black Wide-Leg Pants Were a Good Choice
Black is even easier to wear than I expected. The pintuck detail and wide leg look polished with both fitted knits and simple button-downs. I also appreciate that the pockets are useful without adding bulk. I wore them with a tucked sweater and loafers. They stayed comfortable through several hours of sitting, walking, and running errands. The waist stayed smooth under a tucked knit and did not need much adjusting.

Heather Carbon Grey Wide-Leg Pants, Best Styled My Way
For me, Heather Carbon Grey was the easiest shade to style. The leg is wider than my usual trousers, so I prefer it with a fitted or tucked-in top to keep the proportions balanced. I still like the wide-leg pants, especially the pintuck detail and wide leg, and expect to get plenty of use from them.
